New Members - Lunch & Small Group

We are glad to have you participating in the ministries at Song of Life! If you are interested in knowing more about becoming a member, this page is for you.

Membership in the local church is not about benefits, but commitment. Becoming a member of Song of Life means you are making a commitment to serve and honor Christ in the context of this local congregation, as you continue to learn and grow as a disciple of Jesus.

We  ask all new members at Song of Life to take part in a six week New Members Group. The experience is intended to help nurture you as a disciple, and help you connect with others at Song of Life.

The first session will be a New Members Lunch with Rev. Ron Bartlow and several of our leaders, who will share about the history of Song of Life, our heritage as United Methodists, and ours hopes for the future of Song of Life.

Those who want to join the church will be asked to attend a 5 week Bible Study led by some of our congregation's leaders, focusing on the five commitments of members: Prayer, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness. We ask participants to attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions before being received into membership.

Our next Newcomers Group will begin soon.

If you are interested in learning more about Song of Life, the United Methodist Church, and becoming a member of our congregation, we invite you to join us for Newcomers Group. The Newcomers Lunch focuses on our history as a local congregation, our heritage as a United Methodist Church, and our hopes for the future. The 5 week Newcomers Small Group experience is a Bible study focusing on living out the commitments of membership at Song of Life.

Newcomers Lunch, Sunday at 12:30pm

Join us from 12:30pm until apx. 2:00pm for a lunch at the home of Song of Life leader and greeter Jerri Arnold. Jerri will be joined by Mike Wilkerson, our lay leader, and Rev. Ron Bartlow, as they share about our heritage as United Methodists, our history as a local congregation, and our hopes for the future.

Newcomers Small Group, Sunday afternoons at 1:00pm

We invite you to join us after lunch for a small group experience and Bible Study focusing on the five core commitments members make to a local congregation: Prayer, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness.
