Homeless Ministries

Song of Life actively supports ministries working with the homeless of Maricopa County, particularly through the following United Methodist related organizations:

Justa Center
The Justa Center is a unique ministry working with homeless seniors in Maricopa County. A separate charity now more closely affiliated with The United Methodist Church through Central United Methodist of downtown Phoenix, Justa Center serves approximately 125 men and women, mostly veterans, each day. Services include mail service, internet access to apply for employment, and consultation with a variety of social service personnel, all geared toward helping people transition out of homelessness. The Justa Center helped approximately 300 people last year move out of homelessness.

Song of Life regularly sends volunteers to help with various projects at the Justa Center, as well as collecting necessary items the ministry has need of.

UMOM (United Methodist Outreach Ministries)
UMOM operates the New Day Center and homeless shelter for families in downtown Phoenix. Members of Song of Life are invited to tour the facility this Fall (in October, 2010)! This important ministry provides great services to families in need in our area.
