Communion Sunday Worship
July 3, 2022
This Sunday we will revisit Chapters 2-3 of Revelation, the letters to the 7 churches. We’re going to take a look at the exercise we went through, during which we asked ourselves “what would Jesus say to Song of Life UMC about what we’ve done well and what we need to do better. We will also receive Holy Communion tomorrow morning, so those of you worshiping from home will want to prepare by having bread or crackers and juice or some other liquid handy at the beginning of worship.
COVID 19 Update
Our COVID 19 update is not good. Normally we would have expected an update on June 22, but none was provided, so our next update was on Wednesday June 29. In the zip codes surrounding Song of Life UMC, the 7-day average positivity rate went from 98 on June 15 to 175 on June 29! This is significantly above our threshold of 100 that we’ve used in the past to determine mask recommendation.
In an article posted July 1 on AZCentral.com, it was reported that the CDC recommends that residents in 9 of Arizona’s 15 counties, including Maricopa and Pinal, wear masks while indoors. According to the article, Arizona is now one of the higher risk areas in the country based on hospital admissions, hospital bed use, and case rates.
Given this information, we also highly recommend those attending in-person worship wear masks while indoors at church. I (Pastor Jody) will be wearing a mask during worship, and I strongly encourage you to do so as well.
Here are the bulletins for Sunday:
Note: we will not print bulletins this Sunday, so please print your copy at home and bring it with you if you are worshiping in-person, OR use the QR Code on the front doors to download a copy of the bulletin to your smartphone.
